The matric dance has become such a popular event that some NGOs scurry around trying to arrange garments for less fortunate learners.

Upwards of 13 schoolgirls benefited from an initiative by the Ignite Hope movement.
Benefiting girl learners were drawn from Bela-Bela’s Maope High School, Raelelng High School, Bela-Bela High School, and also Phagameng High School in Modimolle.

In Modimolle, Phagameng High School set the ball rolling with a stunning show on Thursday 19 September, and so did Hoërskool Warmbad.
The schools’ male and female learners displayed the best on offer in haute couture.

The Phagameng High School matric farewell was hosted on the school premises, with the same going for Warries.
Bela-Bela’s Maope High School has, on the other hand, chose to round off celebrations in the outdoors.
The Maope High School event takes place on Thursday 10 October at Shangri-La Country Hotel and Spa in Modimolle.
The next day, Friday 11 October, Modimolle’s Solomon Mahlangu High School learners in their finest are expected to descend on Bela-Bela Lodge, for their farewell party.
