Bela-Bela resident Meshack Kekana has been named among the top 100 most-employable university graduates for the year 2019.

This local crème de la crème is better known nationwide for founding the NGO #100KidsToVarsity, preparing a total of one hundred matriculants each year for their university entry.

The movement also offers career guidance of many school-leavers.

This time around Kekana has been recognised by the GradStar Awards, a programme that recognizes the Top 100 students across the country, based on leadership qualities and readiness for the
workplace.

The awards website explains that many of its top 100 recognised students attract job offers from major employers.

Kekana was shortlisted from an incredible 6 000 entries drawn from across the country.

Speaking during an interview with The BEAT, he said he spent much of his spare time on the golf course, and is also a keen chess player, writer and editor.

He is also due to release his first book, “From Student to CEO”.

Kekana’s #100KidsToVarsity initiative has a total of 200 university student volunteers nationwide, and has thus far assisted a total of 1 000 students.
