The draw for Telkom Knockout football knockout competition did not favour soccer lovers in the home province, with all three teams expected to travel to various cities this coming weekend, for the first round of the tournament.

The tournament will kick off on Friday 18 October, with Maritzburg United FC scheduled to host Bidvest Wits FC at Harry Gwala Stadium.

On Saturday 19 October, Polokwane City will travel to Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium to play Golden Arrows FC, where the two teams will be fighting for a spot in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

By pure coincidence or fate, the two teams will meet again in a space of seven days for the ABSA Premiership clash.

Defending champions Baroka FC has an away date with Supersport United FC at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria.

Another Limpopo favourites, Black Leopards FC will travel to Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa to do battle with Highlands Park FC.

Yet another interesting cup clash will take place at the Cape Town Stadium, where the Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs FC takes on Cape Town City FC.

Mamelodi Sundowns hosts Amazulu FC at Loftus Versfeld, while Orlando Pirates FC welcomes Stellenbosch FC at Orlando Stadium.

Chippa United FC hosts Macufe Cup champions Bloemfontein Celtic FC at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
