Followers of the National First Division (NFD) League, GladAfrica Championship, were treated to a weekend of good football, with a whopping 26 goals scored during the past weekend’s fixtures.

The first division recorded the highest goals this past weekend, as compared to the Premier Soccer League’s ABSA Premiership, which saw a total of 19 goals scored.

The NFD continued to produce fascinating results, with the likes of log leaders, Ajax Cape Town FC and reigning Nedbank champions, TS Galaxy FC losing their league fixtures.

TS Galaxy FC sits on position 10 following their 2-1 home loss, when they hosted Real Kings FC (4).

Uthongathi FC (2) also succumbed 3-1 to Free State Stars FC (9) at the Goble Park Stadium, throwing the top echelons of the competition into a tailspin.

There is still hope for Limpopo soccer followers, as Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC (6) continued to show its yearning for the GladAfrica Championship title.

The Limpopo side battered Royal Eagles (16) 5-0 at the Thohoyandou Stadium.

The revamped Moroka Swallows FC (5) also took home three points last weekend, after beating JDR Stars FC (8) 2-1 away at Soshanguve’s Giant Stadium.
