The Red berets have been on the rampage

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the Waterberg has warned that all businesses — how big or small — had to comply with the law in terms of the pushback against the potential spread of the coronavirus.

At least two grocery chain store outlets had to briefly close for business in recent days, with Julius Malema’s “ground forces” taking occupation of the premises, allegedly because the stores did not comply with laws
governing the protection of workers.

Bela-Bela EFF co-ordinator, Sello Moswoeu, confirmed that he personally spearheaded the occupation of the Shoprite store in Bela-Bela on Sunday 22 March.

Other sources have confirmed to reporter Mzamane Ringane that the store’s outlet in Modimolle was also invaded by EFF activists.

Speaking to The BEAT in an interview on Monday 23 March, he said the EFF’s structures throughout the length and breadth of the Waterberg would conduct similar campaigns going forward, at centres such as Vaalwater,
Lephalale and Mokopane.

In Modimolle reports suggest the Shoprite store was closed for about an hour, but later in the day pictures of workers wearing masks were posted on social media.
