Bela-Bela Mayor Jeremiah Ngobeni has presented the town’s projected 2018-2019 financial year budget totalling R411-million.
He told the community the Bela-Bela Local Council had already approved the budget for the financial year.
Ngobeni was speaking on the occasion of the State of the Municipal Address held at the Bela-Bela Multipurpose Centre on Tuesday 29 May.
A total of R411 million was projected for the 2018-2019 financial year, with R406 million budgeted for operational expenditure.
The mayor further tabled a projected capital expenditure of R96 million, anticipating a surplus of upwards of R6-million going forward.
A total of R1,1-million was budgeted for storm water drainage along Marikana Street, R6,8 million for waste water treatment works in Pienaarsrivier, and R6,5 million for the waste water treatment works in Maskhane.
A total of R4,6 million has been projected for the widening of Miles Street Bridge, and R4,4-million for road paving at Extension 4, 6, 7 and 8.
The construction of Moloto Street Sport Stadium was budgeted at R 12 million.
