Gospel comedian Multi B is targeting a second Independent National Gospel Music Awards (Ingoma), after claiming the prize during the event in Johannesburg last year.

Born Hendrick Moreroa, the Mookgophong comedian is widely known for his tickling performances in churches across Limpopo and beyond.

Multi B said in an interview on Monday 30 July he hoped for a solid result once again in the 2018 leg of the Ingoma Awards.

The popular Mookgophong comedian has been nominated for the same awards in 2018.

“I would like to thank everyone who voted for me last year, as they played an important role in making sure that I bring home the award. Winning last year’s award was only the beginning. We need to nail this one, as a confirmation that Multi B is indeed the best gospel comedian around,” he said.

Many people in the Waterberg refer to the comedian as “Mr Thintha Stress”, which loosely translates into “stress reliever”.

As part of his acts, Multi B is mostly invited by churches to entertain congregants and guests during Sunday services across the country.

To vote for Multi B, his followers can send the message “Ingoma Best Gospel Comedian” to 45633.

The closing date for entries is Saturday 11 August, with the awards ceremony scheduled for Johannesburg on Saturday 25 August.
