Five needy families in Mookgophong are grateful for the assistance in the form of food parcels and clothing items delivered by the local DA leadership.
The party handed over the donations on Saturday 25 August, after identifying the families’ plight during a door-to-door campaign, between Saturday 18 August and Friday 24 August.
Modimolle-Mookgophong Local Council member, David Phalane, said the campaign was aimed at getting a grip of the community’s challenges at grassroots level.
He said more needy families were identified, and that the DA would do all in its power to assist.
The initial beneficiaries consisted of the Mashasha family of nine, together with the Ledwaba’s of three members, the Mathonsi family (three), the Bjyalwanes (four), and the Selomos (10).
Phahlane said it was touching experience when the families expressed their joy at the charity drive.
