The Christian Church of Zion (CCZ) continued to celebrate its 70 years of existence with ceremories scheduled to last until Sunday 2 December, which were scheduled to culminate in the CCZ’s annual conference.

Church leader, Bishop Mahlangano Conference Mahlangu, said he was satisfied with the way things were going.

“Our celebrations will be rounded off with prayers for the sick and needy in December, where we expect members to arrive in their numbers,” he said.

Mahlangu was inaugurated on the occasion of the 2017 annual conference, succeeding the late Bishop Hendrik Mahlangu.

Bishop Hendrik Mahlangu was one of the founding fathers of the CCZ, which was originally an offshoot of the multimillion-member Zion Christian Church (ZCC) of Moria outside Polokwane.

The ZCC is currently under the leadership of the charismatic Bishop Barnabas Lekganyane.

The 70-year-old church has a footprint stretching from Limpopo to Mpumalanga, the North-West Province and Gauteng.
