Patients and staff at the new Bela-Bela health clinic welcomed the Working on Fire team, which enlightened the locals about various aspects of basic firefighting.
The health facility was opened officially by Premier Stan Mathabatha in recent weeks.
The visitors conducted a fire awareness campaign in conjunction with local stakeholders on Wednesday 14 November.
The team did a presentation and the famous firefighting drill, with some of the activities performed by the Sondela Base Crew, led by Monica Letsoalo.
WoF Bela-Bela’s health and safety official, Solly Rathepe, led the team in performing the fire drill, drew deafening applause from throngs of the locals.
Presentations were also delivered by WoF officials, Gombo William, Sinah Senoamadi and Linda Maputla.
Personnel from the Bela-Bela Municipal Fire Department was conspicuous in its absence, after it was announced the team had to attend to another official event.
