Bela-Bela Municipality gets recognition

The Bela-Bela Local Municipality has been conferred with an award by the South African Local Government Association (Salga).

The Bela-Bela Local Municipality has been conferred with an award by the South African Local Government Association (Salga).

The administration was among 10 other municipalities who received awards for best service delivery in the Limpopo province.

The awards ceremony was held at Meropa Casino in Polokwane on Tuesday 19 February.

The Bela-Bela Local Municipality was honoured with the award for 100% spending of its Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG).

The Bela-Bela Local Municipality was honoured for projects such as the paving of certain streets, the bus route in Rapotokwane and the storm-water project in Masakhane.

Bela-Bela Mayor Jeremiah Ngobeni attended the awards ceremony in the company of municipal manager, Mike Makhubela, and chief fnancial officer, Ramadiga Melvin Marutha.

Makhubela said that service delivery remains a priority and the municipality will continue rendering best services to its ratepayers.

“It is such an encouragement to know that the good work that we are doing does not go unnoticed,” he added.
