ABOUT US
Sound Ear (Pty)Ltd was founded in 2013 by Mariza Hamman. Mariza is a Hearing Aid Acoustician with a 15 year history of research in hearing loss. Our mission is to provide hearing health care to people; including hearing aids, hearing protection, sleep plugs, swim plugs and hearing aid accessories. We offer a wide range of hearing aids in different styles to suite every patient’s needs. Hearing aid accessories, which include batteries, tubes, slimtubes, domes, dryaid kits and waxguards, can be ordered through us. Our hearing protection is SANS approved, fits into to the ear so that it can’t be seen and offers the best protection because of precision lasering of the filters.

HEARING AID ACOUSTICS
In the field of Hearing Aid Acoustics, Hearing Aid Acousticians are health care professional identifying hearing losses and fitting hearing aid. Acousticians are trained in anatomy and physiology of the ear, categorizing hearing losses. They dispense and manage hearing aids and counsel the patient through the adjustment period of using hearing aids. Hearing is the point and the aim is to help patients to hear better, and therefore communicating better in their lives and even difficult hearing environments.
MARIZA HAMMAN
Mariza Hamman founded Sound Ear (Pty)Ltd in 2013 after a 15 year history of research in hearing loss. She completed the Advanced Certificate in Hearing Aid Acoustics in 2012 and is registered with the Health Profession Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and with The Society of Hearing Aid Acousticians in South Africa.
MACHIEL SCHUTTE
Machiel Schutte has many years of experience in finances and marketing. He holds a CAIB (SA). With this wealth of expertise he brings efficient account handling and communication to the team.

Sound Ear (Edms)Bpk is in 2013 gestig deur Mariza Hamman. Mariza is ‘n Gehoorapparaat akoestikus met ‘n 15 jaar geskiedenis in die navorsing van gehoorverlies. Ons doel is om gehoorgesondheidsorg aan mense te bied; insluitend gehoorapparate, gehoorbeskerming, slaapproppe, swemproppe en gehoorapparaat toebehore. Ons bied ‘n wye reeks gehoorapparate in verskillende style aan om aan elke pasiënt se behoeftes te voorsien. Gehoorapparaat toebehore, wat batterye, buise, dun buisies, koepels, drooghou stelle en wasbeskermers insluit, kan deur ons bestel word. Ons gehoor beskerming is SANS goedgekeur, pas binne die oor sodat dit nie gesien kan word nie en bied die beste beskerming vanwee presiese lasering van die filters.

GEHOORAPPARAAT AKOESTIEK
In die veld van gehoorapparaat akoestiek is Gehoorapparaat akoetiskuste professionele gesondheidsorg persone wat gehoorverlies identifiseer en die geskikte gehoorapparate pas. Gehoorapparaat akoestikuste word opgelei in anatomie en fisiologie van die oor en om gehoorverlies te kategoriseer. Hulle verskaf en pas gehoorapparate en beraad die pasiënt deur die aanpassingsperiode van die gebruik van gehoorapparate. ‘Gehoor is die doel’ en ons mikpunt is om pasiënte te help om beter te hoor en dus beter te kommunikeer in hulle lewensomstadighede, selfs in moeilike luisteromstandighede.

Mariza Hamman het Sound Ear (Edms) Bpk in 2013 gestig ná ‘n 19 jaar geskiedenis van navorsing in gehoorverlies. Sy het die Gevorderde Sertifikaat in Gehoorapparaat akoestiek in 2012 voltooi en is by die Mediese raad van Suid-Afrika (HPCSA) en by die Vereniging van Gehooapparaat Akoestiek in Suid-Afrika geregistreer.
MACHIEL SCHUTTE
Machiel Schutte het jare lange ondervinding in finansies en bemarking. Hy het ‘n CAIB (SA). Met hierdie rykdom van kundigheid bring hy doeltreffende rekeninghantering en kommunikasie aan die span.

When you are suffering from hearing loss, or when you require better speech discrimination for more comfortable communication in a noisy environment, we can help, we are the provider you need. Our Health Professional Council of South Africa registered Hearing Aid Acoustician is not only equipped to evaluate hearing, select the right hearing aid and provide hearing aid accessories, but also to help protect the hearing of those who wish to conserve good hearing. We also provide custom-made swim and sleep plugs for protection of the ear canal and restful sleep.
You can be assured – we care for your ears and your hearing and have your best interest at heart.
Our practice is in Bela-Bela, Limpopo, but we offer mobile services in the Bela-Bela and Modimolle vicinity, making it possible to bring hearing care to you. We conduct hearing evaluations and fit hearing aids. We also provide custom-made hearing protection as well as custom-made sleep and swim plugs. We are contracted in. After delivering a product, we ensure that the client knows how to use and how to maintain it.
CONVENIENCE
Our practice is mobile, making it possible to bring hearing care to you. All the services that are provided at the practice can be provided in the comfort of your own home.
HEARING PROTECTION
As the saying goes ‘Prevention is better than cure’, we believe that conserving hearing is still the best way to go. We offer SANS approved custom-made hearing protectors ensuring excellent natural hearing health. Our precision filters offer attenuation of between 3dB and 35dB addressing everybody’s hearing protection needs for work and play.

Ons bied ook persoonlik-gegote swem- en slaapproppe vir die beskerming van die oorkanaal en rustige slaap.

Ons praktyk is in Bela-Bela, maar ons verskaf mobiele dienste in die Bela-Bela en Modimolle omgewing, dit maak dit moontlik om gehoorsorg na jou toe te bring. Ons doen gehoor evaluasies en die passing van gehoorapparate Ons verskaf ook persoonlike-gegote gehoorbeskerming asook persoonlik-gegote slaap- en swemproppe. Ons is ingekontrakteer. Nadat ons ‘n produk gelewer het, maak ons seker dat die kliënt weet hoe om die produk te gebruik en hoe om dit in stand te hou.

MEDICAL AIDS
PAYMENT POLICY
Medical services are provided and billed by Sound Ear (Pty)Ltd. Sound Ear (Pty)Ltd is contracted in; we claim directly from the medical aid. However, any outstanding balance remains the responsibility of the main member.
We work with all medical aids. We communicate with the medical aid on behalf of the patients to confirm benefits for hearing aids.
QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR ACCOUNT
Will I have to claim myself?
No, Sound Ear (Pty)Ltd is contracted in and will claim on your behalf.
There is a balance outstanding, what does it mean?
Your medical aid has only paid a portion of the account, the main member is responsible for the outstanding amount.
My medical aid has not paid the account in full, why is that?
The benefits on each medical aid and each plan differ. The medical aid and benefits determine the amount paid to the service provider.
I don’t have a medical aid, is there a discount for cash?
Yes, we give a discount for cash payment and a receipt for tax purposes.

Moet ek sélf eis by my mediese fonds/plan?
Nee, Sound Ear (Edms) Bpk is ingekontrakteur en eise sal names jou deurgevoer word.
Daar is ’n balans uitstaande. Wat beteken dit?
Jou mediese fonds het slegs ’n gedeelte van die rekening betaal.
Die hooflid is dus verantwoordelik vir die uitstaande balans.
My mediese fonds het my rekening nie tenvolle vereffen nie. Waarom nie?
Die voordele van enige mediese fonds en plan verskil.
Die mediese fonds en voordele daaraan gekoppel bepaal die bedrag betaalbaar aan die diensverskaffer.
Ek het nie ‘n mediese fonds nie, is daar afslag vir kontant?
Ja, ons gee afslag vir kontant transaksies en gee ‘n kwitansie vir belastingdoeleindes.
