Questions over Ramaphosa and Malema billboards

A billboard with the smiling face of Economic Freedom Fighters (AFF) leader, Julius Malema, continues to stand majestic along the main road into the township in Bela-Bela.
At the entrance from the central business district, another life-size billboard portraying the smiling face of ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa takes pride of place.
Against the backdrop of municipal by-laws demanding that pre-election posters be removed within 14 days, The BEAT engaged City Fathers about this.
Bela-Bela Local Municipality spokesperson, Kabelo Mosito, said just like the smaller lamppost posters, political parties had the responsibility to remove campaign material from the billboards
too.
Interestingly, another of Malema’s billboard was put up two elections previously.
The Ramaphosa billboard at the township’s entrance was put up ahead of the recent national and provincial elections.
Mosito warned that the Bela-Bela Local Municipality was finalising notices to be dispatched to political parties who fail to respect municipal by-laws.
