Waterberg has a foot in DA shadow Cabinet

Mokopane’s Beyers Smit is the Democratic Alliance’s shadow chairperson for the National Council of Provinces.

DA leader Mmusi Maimane recently unveiled the party’s list of shadow ministers, among them no less than three politicians hailing from Limpopo.

These include Shadow Minister in the Presidency, Polokwane’s Solly Malatsi.

Also on the list is the prominent Tzaneen politician, Desiree van der Walt, who has been announced as shadow deputy minister of education.

In unveiling his team on Wednesday June 5, Maimane hailed the appointees as men and women bringing fresh ideas into the leadership of the DA.

The DA national leader said the shadow cabinet would meet on a regular basis to formulate strategies going forward.
