Tshakhuma edging upwards

The Limpopo-based GladAfrica Championship side, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC has continued to make its title-clashing intentions clear, collecting maximum points away at Cape Umoya United FC on Friday, 28 February.

The home team is now sitting on position four, with 35 points in the bag.

At the top of the league log is Ajax Cape Town FC with 45 points.

Moroka Swallows FC (40 points) and Uthongathi FC (38 points) are sitting on position two and three consecutively.

GladAfrica Championship action will kick off with a fixture between Cape Umoya United FC (position 12) and log leaders Ajax Cape Town FC at Athlone Stadium on Friday, 6 March.

On Saturday 7 March Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC will host the reigning Nedbank Cup champions, TS Galaxy FC (position 10) at the Thohoyandou Stadium.

The hosts will be hoping to come out of this encounter with maximum points, to improve their position on the log, while the visitors will also be aiming for a win to stay clear of the relegation zone.

On the same day at Kabokweni Stadium, TS Sporting (position 13) will host Uthongathi FC, while Mbombela United (15) travels to Free State Stars (9).

Another fixture on Saturday will take place at Chartsworth Stadium, where Real Kings FC (8) FC will take on Jomo Cosmos FC (14).

On Sunday University of Pretoria FC (7) will host Moroka Swallows FC, while Richards Bay FC (11) hosts Royal Eagles FC (16).

In other Sunday fixtures, JDR Stars FC (6) will host Steenberg United FC (5).

Both teams have only been promoted to the National First Division (NFD) at the end of last season, when they reached the final of the ABC Motsepe League national play-offs.
