Deputy Minister for Communications and Bela-Bela home girl Pinky Kekana handed over a cyber lab to Thusanag Special School in Bela-Bela.

The occasion was also attended by Bela-Bela Mayor Jeremiah Ngobeni and acting Waterberg District Mayor Freddy Hlungwane.

Thusanang Special School principal, Shadi Malebye, mentioned by name businesses which had been supportive of the institution over the years.

Learners showcased their traditional and gumboot dance skills for the benefit of the deputy minister and the broader audience.

Bela-Bela Council Speaker Zakes Moeletsi lashed out at councillors who arrived late for the event, and those who left before the end of proceedings.

Kekana applauded the sponsors for their charitable work.

The lab is customised to meet the needs of challenged learners such as the deaf, blind and physically-challenged.

After the event, delegates visited various pre-schools, namely Kutlwelo Botlhoko Day Care, Bela-Bela Crèche, Boitumelo Day Care and Reamogetswe Disability Centre.
