Call for SATMA nominations
As the closing date for the 14th Annual South African Traditional Music Achievement Awards (SATMA) nominations approaches, the Modimolle-based Dinaledi Tsa Setso traditional dance troupe has called on locals to nominate them for three categories.
As the closing date for the 14th Annual South African Traditional Music Achievement Awards (SATMA) nominations approaches, the Modimolle-based Dinaledi Tsa Setso traditional dance troupe has called on locals to nominate them for three categories.
The awards nominations have since opened from 1 March and were expected to close on 28 June.
To nominate a group or artists, followers need to send a message with the name of the artist/group and category included.
Likewise, to nominate the Modimolle-based group, locals should SMS (SATMA, Dinaledi Tsa Setso, best newcomer group) to 49495.
Other two categories that people can nominate Dinaledi Tsa Setso for, are Best Traditional Dance Group and Best Setswana Album.
Dinaledi Tsa Setso chairperson Katlego Leikay Marema called on members of the public to nominate the group for the awards.
“If we earn a nomination in these awards, it will reflect positively on the community of Modimolle. Our aim is to nurture and promote young talent, and also encourage them to focus on their studies,” he said.
