The police in Bela-Bela have opened an inquest docket after a 21-year-old woman was allegedly attacked and killed by two lions the Zwartkloof Private Game Reserve.
The police in Bela-Bela have opened an inquest docket after a 21-year-old woman was allegedly attacked and killed by two lions the Zwartkloof Private Game Reserve.
The case was reported on Thursday 6 February after the police and the emergency medical services personnel were summoned to the scene.
Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said that on arrival, investigators found the woman with severe injuries outside the lion camp.
She was certified dead by the paramedics.
Ngoepe further said that preliminary investigations indicated that the deceased was performing her duties when she was attacked and killed by the lions.
The deceased was identified as Swané van Wyk.
